Memories in Glass

Handblown texturised glass, 50,000 lumen light, 2025

This piece focuses on the concept of glass as a guardian of memory to explore the enduring connections we hold with those we’ve lost. Inspired by my research into stained glass windows and visits to Durham and Canterbury Cathedrals, I am drawn to the storytelling aspect of stained glass and how light brings these divine works to life, amplifying their impact and evoking a sense of awe. Glass has this ability to capture and transform light and become a metaphor for the fragility and persistence of memory.
